What is the Squires program?

  • The Columbian Squires, the official youth organization of the Knights of Columbus, is a leadership development program for young Catholic men, 10-18 years old.

What is the Squire Rose program?

  • Pennsylvania has established a program for Catholic girls; Squire Roses, which are the female compliment to Squires. This program is modeled after a program initiated in Virginia and copied, modified and brought to fruition in as many as eleven states.
  • Our State program is for Catholic girls from the ages of 10 – 18 and has been modified from the Virginia concept in several areas. The primary difference is it is to be administered by women with oversight at the State Youth level. As such, a Squire Rose Circle may only be initiated where;
    1. A Squire Circle exists,
    2. The sponsoring Council/Assembly agrees,
    3. Female Counselors agree to provide guidance,
    4. Appropriate paperwork is filed with the State Youth & Squire Director.
      The initial paperwork is Form PA-INTENT which is listed under Forms.
