Seminarians Bolster Ranks of Pennsylvania Knights of Columbus !
Thirteen
seminarians of the Diocese of Pittsburgh were initiated into the
Knights of Columbus at a special ceremony held at St. Paul Seminary in
Crafton on Friday evening, January 27, 2012.
The thirteen men
have become members of ten different councils throughout the Diocese of
Pittsburgh, from Ellwood City in the North to Carmichaels in the
South. They now join four of their brother seminarians at St.
Paul and 22 other diocesan seminarians as members of the Knights of
Columbus.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Past State Deputy
Joseph A. Cummings presented the Very Reverend Joseph M. Mele, Rector
of St. Paul Seminary with an Honorary Degree Scroll as the degree was
dedicated in his Honor in recognition of his support of the Knights of
Columbus and the seminarians of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. First
Degree certificates were also presented to each new K of C member.
The
Degree team from Our Lady of Olives #3907 in Wexford performed
the ceremony at St. Paul's, which has become an annual event for the
Knights of Columbus and St. Paul Seminary.
