AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE LIST BELOW, WE COULD USE MORE 1st AND 2nd DEGREES. PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SCHEDULE A 1st
AND 2nd DEGREE IN YOUR COUNCIL AND OR IN YOUR DISTRICT. WE NEED TO RECRUIT MORE NEW MEMBERS TO GROW
OUR ORDER.
Please remember that we are now permitted
to read the 1st Degree allowing each and
every council to hold 1st Degrees. You can also conduct the 1st
Degree wearing suits, ties and a yellow and white
ceremonial sash ($15 each from Kelly and Lynch). If you do not have the props for the 1st
Degree either borrow them for a nearby council or a 1st Degree Kit,
containing all needed props, can be purchases from Kelly and Lynch for $290
District Deputies; please contact all your Councils to
see if they have any candidates waiting for Degrees. If so, please schedule these men for one of the Degrees listed
below.
Below
is a list of the known Degrees Dates in our caucus area. Please let me know
via the e-mail address listed below if any other Degrees are scheduled in you
District or Council so the dates, locations (please send the actual address)
and times can be distributed throughout our caucus area.
FIRST
DEGREE EXEMPLIFICATIONS:
Council should supply a new candidate's kit for each candidate and please
instruct all candidates to make every effort to wear a coat & tie. Please
let hosting council know how many candidates are attending.
· Thursday March 29, Peace Council #4518 is hosting 1st and 2nd Degrees at their council
home at 1185 Haverford Road, Crum Lynn, PA, Candidates are asked to arrive by
7:30, Degree at 8:00 PM. For questions call Fran O'Hara at 610 461 5167 or Mike
Yuknek at 610 909 2930. Or send an email to dd17@ridleypa.us.
· Tuesday April 24th, Pope John Paul I Council
7565 will host a 1st Degree at
Visitation BVM Parish’s Larkin Center (lower level of rectory) located at 196
N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. Candidates report between 7:15pm
and 7:30pm, Degree begins at 7:45pm. Remember to bring a 1st degree
kit (rosary, book and pin) for all candidates. Candidates should wear a

to call the Host District Deputy and/or the Host Grand Knight and/or the
Council’s Degree Team Captain for all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd;
Degrees so they know how many candidates are attending the Degree. For 1st Degree candidates please make
sure the candidate's home Council supplies a new candidate's kit (rosary, pin and
the book "These men called Knights”) for each candidate. Please don't
forget to present each new candidate with the requirements for the Shining Armor
Award.
